One of the easiest ways to drive new traffic to Storenvy while generating traffic to your products is by creating Collections. Storenvy Collections are similar to Etsy’s Treasury feature or to creating Pinterest boards. While in the Marketplace you can hover over products and there is a “Collect” button on them.
Once you click that button a box pops up and asks you which Collection you would like to add the product to, and you have the option to add a comment.
You can see all of the collections I have made here to get an idea of how they look. They are SO fun to make, I am totally addicted!
People can view your collections via your profile page, and you can set boards so that only you can contribute, people you follow can contribute or anyone on Storenvy can contribute to them. My Monster Awesomeness board I made public and you can see here that it displays the users who have contributed to the board when it is a public board.
How do you know if you can collaborate on a board? Check out this Handmade board – in the upper right hand corner it has a collaborate button. Click that button and it is then added to your list of boards to chose from when Collecting products.
How do you change who can post? Simply go to your Collections page and click settings. You can then edit your Collection name, description, who can post and you can also delete the board from this page as well.
While items being added to collections doesn’t directly increase search rankings on Storenvy, it does increase visibility for sellers, meaning more eyes on everyone’s products! Storenvy features 1-5 collections on the home page at all time, so that means lots of new exposure for sellers! So, try out making & promoting some collections – the better the collection, the better the odds of it being featured or going viral!
Tips for making a killer Collection:
Have a solid theme
Whether it is a color, animal, product type or season, make sure your Collections have a definitive theme & that the items you add to the collection make sense for the theme – for instance, a winter theme wouldn’t have shorts & tank tops, while a summer theme wouldn’t have sweaters and knee socks. Keep it relevant & it will increase the odds of items getting envied & collected onto more boards, which equals more traffic to your shop! Basically, just keep in mind you can make as many Collections as you like so don’t try to cram everything you love into one Collection. The more often you make & promote collections, the more people you are exposing to your products in a very organic way while also generating exposure for the Storenvy platform & your fellow Enviers at the same time!
Choose items with great images & good descriptions
Try to select items with killer product photos to add to your Collections – bright, well lit, clutter free images that showcase the item. Remember, Collections are a lot like Pinterest boards, so the better the images the higher odds of the collection going viral. Also, make sure that the products you add to your collections have well-written, informative descriptions too – this also increases the odds of the items get envied, added to more Collections & purchased!
Don’t make it all about your products
Try to keep your Collections as organic as possible. I try not to add more than four items from my shop and fill in the rest of the collection with items from other sellers. This way it’s not all “Look at me, look at me!” but more of a “check out these super cute things that I love!” thing, which people are a lot more likely to get excited about & Envy items – or maybe even buy them!
Sharing is caring
When you feature another Envier’s work in a Collection, tag them on social media when you share it. You can find their social media links by visiting their marketplace stores. This helps build a thriving, connected community. Plus, the people you featured are likely to share a Collection they are featured in, which means your items being exposed to a wider audience. Everyone wins!
